I've just removed a bit of false floor in what was previously a shower and loo and found this.

Obviously there a capped off waste pipe, but what's the concrete thing?

As above, it was once common to bed the loo on cement.

It is just bedding for the pan. It can be removed.

How have they sealed the old drain off? It really needs to be something more substantial than a plastic bad and some string, especially as you've opened it up to daylight, there is a risk Vermin may find a new entrance into your property!
