I laid some oak, engineered wood flooring. Two types in two areas:
1. Reclaimed, oiled wood finish flooring in one room.
2. Lacquered finish flooring in another room.

I never considered what I should do to maintain the appearance of the flooring until now. I just bought a Ewbank EP170 floor polishing machine. Does anyone have good experiences of polishes that I could apply to the two types of flooring to keep them clean and smooth? I have looked on the web for suitable products and been bewildered by what I have read to date.

The Lacquered floor needs nothing more than sweeping, hoovering or cleaning with a Laquered Floor Spray and Microfibre Cloth. YOU CANNOT POLISH THIS FLOOR.

Similar Cleaning is recommended on a day to day basis for the Oiled finish, but you MUST use a wood soap spray NOT the spray for the lacquered floor.

We sell products from Woods Good in our shop: http://woodsgood.co.uk/

The oiled floor can be regularly waxed, look at http://www.osmouk.com/sitechapter.cfm?chapter=61&page=234 they do a range of maintenance products that are regarded amongst the best available.

Thank you for the advice, crazydaze. Most helpful.

Does your shop have a web site? When I entered my postcode in the “Where To Buy” section of the ‘Wood’s Good’ web site “No results found” was returned.

I'm afraid we don't, we supply through our association with V4 Engineered Oak Flooring products, most reputable flooring shops and hardware stores will sell suitable products or Woods Good have a 'where to buy' area on their website:
