Hello everybody

New house and I have these timber wall "panels" with nothing of any substance behind them it seems. Probably just stud type timbers.

I want pictures of course, what kind of fastenings/plugs should I use? The thickness is 10mm.

How to get old ones out please?

Some attachments here, I hope that helps clarify.

Bye for now

Regards

Depending on the weight of your pictures you can buy plastic picture hooks which have 3 or 4 small pins in them. They are strong enough to hold into surface plaster so should easily cope with those boards. I have a 3' x 2' painting over my fire surround held up with 2 of these.

To remove the old ones simply slice off the outer wings with a Stanley knife or sharp scraper. You can then push the centre into the void behind the wall board.

Hello Conny,
Thanks for a prompt reply, I am wondering what weight these can handle, I'll buy someand see. Thank for advice on getting rid of old ones.

Anybody else?
Alan

A single one will hold a decent sized photo frame. I have a single hook supporting a 24" x 18" photograph of a Lancaster Bomber on the wall behind the sofa that's not fell down in over 4 years. Above the fireplace on the opposite wall I have a 40" x 30" print of the Dambusters raid which has hung there for at least 3 years. Because this was an expensive purchase we have used 2 hooks on this one for peace of mind. We never use any other type of hook for our pictures.
