What size gap

What size gap should I leave under the skirting board to allow for carpet? Im assuming something like 5mm or no gap but not certain which

fat - no gap at all. The carpet is held by gripper-rod nailed to the floorboards by the carpet fitter who'll ensure that there's a gap between the gripper and the skirting.

nice one cheers wasnt sure if a gap should have been left to tuck carpet under.
