I'm in the process of sealing & painting my concrete garage floor & noticed the mortar separating the concrete base from the brickwork along one of the walls had pretty much turned to dust. I've spent a few hours digging out the old mortar/dust, but I'm not sure what to use to refill it as it will need to be compatible with both concrete and brick.
Can anyone suggest what to fill it with? I have no previous experience with this sort of work so please dumb down your replies!
The gap is about 6m long by 70mm deep by 25mm wide (but varies quite a bit). What sort of quantity would be required?
There is also some dust remaining at the bottom of the trench along with the thick plastic sheeting I assume was used to lay the concrete base. I may have trouble getting it all out - would that be a problem?
