I have a tiny bathroom (1650x1550) so space is at a premium. We want to install a bath with a bar mixer shower and i was wondering whats the best way of getting the pipes hidden without sacrificing too much space? The wall the shower will be on is a masonry party wall currently with plaster and tiles, which will be coming off. I was thinking stripping back to brick and then dot and dab some boards with enough clearance for pipes plus lagging. an alternative would be to attach some narrow battens to the masonry and fix boards to that. Would these ideas work? What is the thinnest size batten i could get away with using 12.5 pbs?

the masonry party wall , is it brick or block?
why do you need to insulate a party wall when there is already a shortage of space?
you don’t need to batten or board it . chase the wall to accomodate the pipework, fill it in and retile over the top.
