Hello, I wonder if I could be pointed in the right direction....
I am planning to paint then stencil some wooden stairs, then coat them in something that will provide durability, along with a satin/gloss sheen. The wood already has a wood-specific paint undercoat, but I was wondering what type of paint/varinish/finish I should use over the top? For instance, I'm presuming that certain varnishes of fnishing products could break down the paint and cause it to smear? Basically I don't want to spend hours creating an intricate pattern, only to finish it with the wrong type of product and not only ruin it, but have to sand the whole lot again!!
Thanks
