What type of pull switch is this?

It's A DP [Double Pole] switch and will have terminals for L&N in and a L&N out [or Load] Both poles will be switched when the cord is pulled. It should say on the back that it is DP and show a current rating [A]

As it appears just to have three wires L&N in and a L out. It appears to be being used as a single pole switch to just switch the L. The N only being used to provide power to the Neon indicator.

The yellow leads to the Neon are the 'out' or 'load side' terminals.

Possibly feeds a loft light , neon to indicate if light is on or off when the hatch is closed .

Ive been up in the loft and it feeds into a JB
That goes to the loft mounted extractor unit.

Loft light is on a separate switch in th corridor with its own neon

Yes, but you would have to isolate / insulate the Neutral wire and tuck it out of the way.

If i wanted to connect this up to a 2 gang wall switch. (1 rocker switch for a light, and one in place of the pull cord for the fan) is that possible?

If so what type of switch do i need to get as the replacment?
Thanks
Again

You've said what you need...
a 2 gang wall switch.

Use one gang for the light and the other for the fan.

You don't mention the current rating of the fan, but it won't be a problem if it's a standard domestic bathroom fan.
