Im "knocking through" a 1m wide door way into an extension.
The wall is 9" solid brick but there is a roof purlin (positioned centrally above the new opening) 800mm approx above the finished height of the new lintel. Should I use RConcrete lintels or 2 RSJ's bolted together? and what size?

Its the gable external wall to the orignal house (9" brick, with pebble dash render on the exterior.) Opening is on the top/1st floor. Theres just the attic above (hence the 9"x3" timber purlin. Measuring up from the underside of the position of the new lintel (@ the centre of the new opening,) to the underside of gable end (4"x2")rafter is 1.4m approx. -Roof pitch 48*

And it's not supporting the roof. hard to say being remote but 800mm opening should not be a big problem I'd go with two RSJs maybe over the top but better safe than sorry, 7inch ones should be good.
