Hi guys

I am looking at tiling an old block wall which has been finished with browning and a skim coat. Does anyone know what weight of tiles this would support.
Found a guide that said plaster will support up to 20kg pms, does this apply to this setup??

If so, then the lightest tiles I was looking at were more than 20kg pms (ideally was looking at travertine which would be even more) but then presumably you would need to include the weight of the adhesive/grout etc?

If this is the case, then what are my options? Presumably any backerboard would just add to the weight?

Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

solid wall with...bonding/browning/etc with a finish coat plaster 20kg per m2

12.5mm plasterboard "skimmed".. 20kg per m2

12.5mm cementbased backerboard.. 40+kg per m2

cement based addy and cement based grout will be 4-5kg per m2.
