what will be best for temp car parking in garden

S

snadge

we have a brand new car and would like to create temp parking in the back garden to keep it off the road as there are lots of kids outside - what will be the cheapest temp option to lay down some flags or blocks to pave to channels up the garden for the wheels to go on - i will obviously dig out the channels too

later on the garden will be turned into a parking area proper but not for a long while yet so its just a temp fix for now - few slabs up the garden..

EDIT: just remembered there is a drain in the garden too - its center near the top - how will this affect it?

whats cheapest method?

thanks

aye thats canny

will it not be cheaper with blocks or slabs? i dont mind the labour its really to get costs down

also, ive just rememebered there is a drain in center but top of garden - will this mean the garden might not support the weight of the car? hmmm stumped now - we have 4 drains in our gardens (3) - im pretty sure it runs out to where the car is parked but the road will be re-enforced

Its a tough one without seeing the site.. what the subsoil is like.. how deep the drains are etc..

Cheapest for a solid method would be concrete strips. maybe with some small reinforcing running length ways to spread the weight, you might get away with one jumbo of ballast plus cement, few lengths of rebar maybe total materials £100-ish but you've then got to get shot of a ton or so of soil..

Prepare the ground, etc, get a few tons of MOT nad a whacker plate. Job done for a tempory parking place.
