Top floor London , mains pressure poor. Other taps in house STOP the mains flow at this level.
This feeds a bath/shower, obviously minimal amount of hw is available.
Height from base of cistern to top of cyl is about 600.
The HW only comes from the double-arowed section, and rapidly runs cool.
What would you suggest as most cost effective move to improve situation?
I think:
1) Replace elec immersion with longest available (36")(why do they make 48" direct cylinders if not longer heaters??)
2) Fit Surrey flange with shortened tube
3) Restrict water flow to pump with a gate valve if it sucks air
Just occurred to me that if the Essex is a non-stop type I could bend the pipe up inside the cylinder.
More awkward/costly alternative would be to fit an immersion low in the side of the cylinder, or arrange a 2ndry return type pump to stir the contents.
Have another idea but will wait....
(ignore the funny white rectangle on top of the cistern)
