Dragging him back, (or anyone else for that matter), to apologise for disparaging comments they make will never cut any ice with me.
If they really mean they are sorry they will do it off their own back, without being dragged back to say some words they don't really mean.
The presenter(s) should have pulled him up sharply as soon as he said it.
