Hello,

I've just built a timber frame to hide the pipes etc behind my toilet and was wondering what would be best to complete the boxing with a view to tiling afterwards, should I use wood or plasterboard? If wood, what type? and if plasterboard will I have to plaster it first?

Thanks,

Same idea as mine.
i framed pipework out and boarded over with 12.5mm plasterboard then tiled straight onto the gyproc.

i ripped it out just before xmas to install a new bathroom and after 15yrs it was still as good as the day i done it. :D

Good man, proof that there is no need to mess about with ply when boxing in,plasterboard....easy to use and a dam site cheaper than ply too ;)

Plasterboard it is then, can anyone just confirm that I can tile directly onto it i.e. no need to plaster or seal it in any way?

Thanks!
