show me where you think he is "upset."

Ursula von der Leyen certainly sounded very upset yesterday, though her comments were translated. She was asking what would happen to all the boats and fishermen, who for generations had relied upon fishing for their livelihood.

The north sea (our north sea) fishing grounds have valuable stocks of fish, prior to us joining the Common Market fishing in the UK was one of the major industries. It is obviously well worthwhile EU members going the extra distance to (over)fish our waters, it must be worthwhile for us to do it and sell them some of the fish we catch.

I notice it includes this snippet:

"A spokesman for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said: “From 1 January 2021, we will be an independent coastal state and will be able to decide which vessels, including supertrawlers, can access and fish our waters. "

which is a lie

1. we dont know whether UK will agree access to fishing

2. the sold quotas stay in the hands of foreign owners

it must be worthwhile for us to do it and sell them some of the fish we catch

that wont work

if no access to fishing is agreed, france will veto the deal

if there is no deal UK fisherman will lose 70% of their market as France wont allow catch to be landed in French ports

we dont have capacity to process it and if we did we would have to freeze the catch and sell it for less money
