About to tile onto plasterboard, made a mistake by not using aquapanels so want to try and reduce likelihood of water getting through.
Been given advice to use a tanking kit pre-tiling, but also been told to skim the wall then use BAL primer.

What should I do to ensure it will hold watertight? Using 300mm x 500mm tiles.

Cheers for responses in advance, need all the help I can get.

BAL is just a brand. Their SPR primer is good to use on concrete and plaster before tiling as it helps with adhesion, but its not a waterproofing material.

Sorry to hijack but im thinking of doing the same in the bathroom, Would I be ok just using water resistance and flexible tile adhesive and grout since its only the bath area as the shower cubical is getting paneled.

I went into a local tile shop and the tiler in there advised me to use tanking solution on the plasterboard then just use a good adhesive/grout.
