one of our vans is of the road so the bricklayer has been mucking in with me for the past few weeks now.

We turns up at the job yesterday its only a small ceiling, drop, reboard and skim.

so we are all ready for skimming, an i asks the brickie to chip a few bits of the whisk before we start, while i went to the van for a smoke......... when i came back he's only chipping it of with my skimming trowel

it looked like someone had taken a bite out of it, so my question is whats the stupidest thing you lot have seen?

I always smile when diyers block up a doorway, only to leave the existing casing in place. Then they ask if you can skim over the wood....

My oppo used my finishing trowel to clean a floor once and popped the rivets. He said "calm down i will buy you a new one".

"Who will break it in?", was my reply.

Just before Christmas last year, i did a favour for a client and insulated his loft, this was on my way to go shopping. My wallet was bulging under the pressure. Once finished the customer paid me and as i reached for the wallet, it wasn't there.

Could you imagine my dismay at having to trawl through a large loft filled with 300mm of fibreglass insulation.

Found it within two minutes though. luck-lucky. :p

I used some site contractors to skim out a post office. They were fast, really fast. So quick they did not even bother removing wall paper in some places.
