When was the last time you visited the capital of your country?

That big London usually yearly, go to a gig or play, Mrs CB has a yen to stay in The Shard

London was a fantastic place to visit in the 70s and 80s - I went a lot. No wish to return there as it's about as English as Bombay. I feel far more at home in Prague, where it is completely safe anywhere, day or night, and still inhabited by indigenous Czechs. London is a whole 'nuther country.

Had a great curry there recently. And saw an amazing Russian pianist play in a Church dedicated to Olaf of Norway. You don't get that in many places.

My capital is London, and I've not been there since early 2004. Union reps meeting with central management.

London 2 weeks ago to see my step son who was having major open heart surgery.
Hated the place. It is absolute manic on those roads. How anyone has the nerves to drive through there is beyond me. Brakes screeching, horns blaring, cyclists flying around left, right and center after appearing from nowhere, every other road seems to have road works and every junction has so many signs it takes 5 minutes to read/check them all!

Lol. You just have to go with the flow. Let nobody out from a side street, let nobody overtake or cut in front of you and if someone at the head of the queue at the lights hasn’t moved off within 0.0005 seconds, blast your horn to let them know about it! Oh yeah, nearly forgot. Look nobody in the eye and always carry a weapon. (y)

A fortnight ago. Meeting for work.
Lichfield to Euston - prebooked return - £31, 90mins each way.
HS2? Vanity project / sunk cost fallacy / snouts in trough, IMHO.
Ah but soon you'll be able to pay £62 to get there is 80 minutes!
