Where can I get a long ladder standoff?

Screw a chunk of 6x2 to it.
I've got the same issue,
FMT do you mean like a frame made of 6x2 or whatever strapped to the existing stand off?
I'd make sure someone has got their foot on the bottom when I do it

Screw a 6x2 bit of timber to the standoff to act as a spacer between the wall and the standoff.

A standoff is heavy enough to haul up a wall on the end of a ladder without lumps of timber to add to the weight.
