Hi I use a PC with Win ME and Word 97. I use Insert, then Symbol to put special characters into my text. I can find equal to (=) and less than (<), but not the less than or equal to symbol. Can anybody point me to it, or the ALT number?

OK, thanks. But what keystrokes do I do to get this symbol. I've tried what you put, but nothing is appearing...

On mine I typed 2264 and then hold ALT and press X. (I have msword2003.)
In the insert symbol panel it is Font:(normal text), Subset: Mathematical Operators

Nice one sparks, that's another couple I need to remember. The other most useful ones are, the degrees symbol "°". For those that want to know, it's Hold down "ALT" and type "248". Also the plus and minus symbol for tolerances "±" is "ALT" and "241".
Cheers

I bet there's a webpage somewhere that lists them all...

Just looking at MSword97 on my laptop and the symbol for less than or equal to is in the Insert symbol panel Font: Symbol
