Hi,

Back in Jan I posted about a sandstone repair I was going to make and PBoyofderry replied that I should mix up-

"mixture of 3 x silica sand to 1 x cement add a water proofing admixture"

//www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=212088&highlight=

Just wondered where I would get hold of silica sand is it available thru any regular outlets like jewsons or would I have to shop on the web. Also any advise on a suitable w/proof mix would be of interest

thanks

Adam

Where do you leave, it's normally a quarried item.
I use a company called Bathgate
http://www.bathgatesilica.co.uk/
but there will be others, they are a good company and may be able to help you source a local supplier if you contact them.
Sica waterproofers or feb will do, but any of the self stuff at the sheds.
Sorry for not replying to your post, not like me>
Yep a bit of PVA in the internal, I would not normally recommend using PVA externally but does help.
