Where to finish Laminate and suggestion for finishing to front door needed

I've got a wooden batton at the front door and it's got to stay put. However, I'm unsure how to make this look good. I guess I'll still need the 10mm gap - so suggestions for how to finish this edge appreciated.

Also, I'm going to start at the door jamb in the pic. Is it right to only go as far as the green line in terms of the carpet fitters being able to join onto it?

OK. My terminology is incorrect.

So it's the sill. How would you normally finish/join this?

Do your photos show an internal threshold or an external threshold with a PVC door frame and sill?
Can you stand back and photo the door opening in question, and show what materials such as tile are already down?
It might be a matter of using a simple transition piece.

Here's the pic requested. I bought a threshold today but I think it will look ****e and be too raised creating a trip hazard..

I dont know the profile of the strip you have maybe it will do?

Square edge or End profile across the threshold would be perfect.

Just butt it up tight to it and leave your expansion at the other end, timber doesn't expand and contract anywhere near as much along it's grain, in fact hardly at all.
as for the door threshold you need to go just to the far edge of the doorstop the joint should be under the door when it is shut
