Whilst trying to do a thorough job of repainting my composite front door, I removed the inner and outer trims and glazing unit, but like a muppet, smashed the inner frosted glass panel of the glazing cassette.

Where can I get a replacement in a hurry?

It's a 2012 Eurocell Dales Collection, but they don't do my shape of window anymore - large half glazed upper with a fully rounded top - 22" wide, 36" tall at the highest point.

I can't see on the Eurocell website anywhere to get a replacement glazing unit.

Where am I best going to get a new unit (frosted inner pane, Queen Anne leaded outer pane) and what is it likely to cost?

Take the unit to any local double glazed unit manufacturer who will take down the details, width-height-radius-thickness-spacer bar colour-glass type-lead design and will give you a price, can imagine it'll be at least 100 quid, as its a door it needs to be safety glass so toughened and that can be a 5 day turnaround from a glass tougheners, some do it quicker or if the double glazed unit manufacturer has his own toughening kiln they might get it done overnight.

Don't go to a window company, they'll just take it to a unit manufacturer anyway and stick 30% on

Thanks for your advice - was just about to start ringing double glazing companies - the high street types.

Don't go down the double glazing company route, go straight to a DGU manufacturer they won't bite your head off, they do however like measurements in MM not inches but if you CAN take the unit to them thats even better as they'll take all the measurement from that, you can also use double glazing doctors/service engineers, guys who specialise in replacing misted/steamed up units

Thanks - I must admit, I'm struggling to find any websites of people who claim to manufacturer. Everyone likes to supply and install. I'm based on the Wirral and I'm yet to find the words manufacture on their websites....

Thanks - from disassembly, it looks like I add some double sided 5mm x 3mm foam tape to the inside inner most face of the external plastic surround trim, place the glass inside this to secure the seal and bond - all whilst flat on the bench to get the glass centred in the trim frame, them apply more foam tape to the concentric outer ring of the inner face of the same trim ring, then affix this to the door window aperture, holding everything in the place. Then I add the double ring (inner and outer) of foam tape to the opposing inner trim ring and push the clips into the opposing clips on the outer ring - sandwiching everything together. The inner and outer trim rings are identical and are held together with double ended barbed fittings - they were a bugger to separate.

Does that sound about right?

Just need to find some double sided foam tape now - the original measures 5mm wide, 3mm thick.

Just trying to find some tape less than 10mm wide - the trims have a shelf for the foam to sit in that is 5mm wide. Might need to cut it in half with a Stanley knife as can't seem to find find 5mm wide.

Appreciate the help and guidance, thanks.

Try total glass there in Liverpool, Prescott.

Anyone know where I can get glazing tape 5mm wide and 3mm thick - nobody seems to sell it less than 10mm wide...
