Hi everyone, I'm just starting to do up our house which is in need of modernisation.
I'm going to make an opening in the wall between the living room and dining room about 8 feet wide. Its a supporting wall and I have researched lintels, inspections etc but I dont know how to actually remove the blocks.
Do I drill loads of holes and then use a lump hammer or do I hire a disc cutter and go for it?. This is probably obvious to those in the know but I'm not sure of the best way to do it. Any input would be appreciated.
Cheers, Steve.

4 or 6 acros with strong boys slotted into slots above where the lintel is going.

Best get a structural engineer in first.
