Which drain type to use?

I’d like to make draining my system easier by fitting a 15mm Drain Cock in a cupboard where it’s accessible. I didn’t realise there were two types (see attached photo).

Which would you recommend I use?

Type A if you don't want it to leak when you need to use it

Did you solder it? I hope you took the internals out whilst doing so.
