Which drills for hard surface ?

Hi guys

I was trying to drill in a chimney breast yesterday and God it was hard. I've got a small codeless 18v Black and Decker drill. I struggled going through some parts , after an inch .

I want an SDS drill . Are they more powerful? I need it for bricks /walls etc. Internal and external. Also for chasing etc

Would a wired or codeless version be better /powerful?

Yes, an SDS would save loads of time.
If it's just for DIY get a Lidl/Aldi special, otherwise spend a bit more.
The advantage/disadvantage of cordless are the same for any other cordless tool.

corded is cheaper and more powerful

SDS is much much more powerful than hammer drills

also handy for getting tiles off and small breaking jobs

Oh thanks for that.
That's a hammer drill. Ideally looking for a SDS drill. As I'd be using it for chasing walls and using chisels etc on it. Making holes from external walls to internal. Etc

The Screwfix one is an SDS drill. Cordless is powerful enough for what you need, but the batteries always run out in the middle of a job. And you be paying several times as much.
If you have access to power get the corded one.
