Hi

I bought a radiator fixing set of fixings from b and q (see pic).

It says for hollow and solid walls - are the brown plugs for the solid walls and the metal (silver) fixings for hollow (dot and dab?) walls?

What shall I fix the radiator brackets using?is either fixing stronger?

Silly question, but I don't want it to fall off and leak over our new carpet!
Cheers

You have answered your own question.

We don't know if you have solid walls or cavity walls.

It all depends on your wall construction.

If solid wall then Brown Plugs and screws are fine.

If a studded wall and you can't screw into the timber frame or noggin you will have to use a Heavy Duty fixing designed for such. I always try to find some solid timber to screw into on at least one bracket.

If Dot and Dab there are some very good fixings designed especially for use in D & D. The best I have come across are called Dryline Pro. Now use them all the time on D & D walls.
