Which traps in a bathroom?

Simple question, from the multitude of traps available on the market which type (bottle, p, s etc) would be best to fit to a bath and a basin in my new bathroom. The bath will have a panel so being unsightly doesn't matter. I don't mind cutting holes in floorboards so size isn't important but the basin is a pedestal design.

Finally what size waste pipe is needed? 32mm or 40mm?

Cheers again.

Bath = shallow bath trap ( no need to cut holes in floor) 40 mm
Basin = bottle trap with 32 mm waste. :D

the basin waste would join the bath waste and then both empty into a single soil/vent stack.

If they are discharging straight into a soil stack you will need to use an anti vac basin one and an AAV fitted onto your bath waste within 150 mm of the trap. :D
