Whirlpool AWG 995 Won't spin.

The main motor will not spin, pump motor works OK, as does the heater blower for the dryer. However the drum will not spin.
Have checked the belt (OK) the drum turns freely by hand with no grating or grinding.
Have checked the motor for same, smooth as the preverbial babies bum, but the thing don't work!

Have looked for the PCB that was mentioned in other posts for the dry joint but this machine doesn't have one.

Has anyone any ideas ?
