Whirlpool awo 5763 door lock light

Hi everyone, I'm currently having a problem with my washing machine. When I start a cycle, the motor starts up for a few seconds then the door lock light starts flashing and the machine stops the cycle, but the door is actually locked! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Sorry if this problem has been answered before! Thanks in advance,

Found the problem, just a simple case of the carbon brushes needing to be canged. Apparently this was causing the motor to be out of circuit!
