Oops, ban, i was thinking 2.2KW :eek: Yes, 3A should do.
 
ok i'm no spark, but i put in my own whirlpool (before part p before you comment :p ). The pump was rated at 2.2 A too but when i spoke to the manufactuere they said use a 5A (with a 30mA RCD) as the start up load could could cause nuisance trips.

incidentally ran it off the Cu to a shower RCD unit (the type with two MCB's.. one 5A and one 45A) which then feeds the 10.8Kw shower on one side and the 5A the jacuzzi). whole thing protected by a 50A MCB.
