White emulsion for walls and ceiling

What's people's recommendation for a nice white emulsion for walls and ceiling.

Just want a decent product which doesn't cost the earth but will cover well and not look too shiny.

Most people say to go with a trace paint.

Thanks. Is it worth going for a vinyl matt due to using on walls. I have no experience of vinyl matt. Is it more like silk or alot less of a sheen.
