:? Am returning to part time work ( am mother of 3! + so am a full time taxi as well!) Have just passed my Part P but am a bit shocked by the cost of registering £400 plus. Ill have to do awlful lot of 'little jobs' before i make a penny! Help

NIC has no doubt most name recognition.
Personally I find the NAPIT the most helpful organisation with the added advantage of actually being a member of a trade organisation in stead of only being on a register.
I have approached, or tried to approach several organisations, I think there are seven now, and found the NAPIT an easy choice.
If you can afford the time, contact the lot and choose the one you feel most comfortable with. Most if not all people who are signed up with a club will be biased one way or the other.

You may also want to check their requirements for the on-site assessment of your work. Although they should all be working to the same protocol - they do differ quite significantly in both what they will be happy with in so far as type and number of jobs they want to look at and in the paperwork you need to support your application.

If you are considering getting started doing electrical work you need to factor in all the start up costs - test kit ~£500, PL insurance ~£150 tools etc

If you need to find a tradesperson to get your job done, please try our local search below, or if you are doing it yourself you can find suppliers local to you.

Select the supplier or trade you require, enter your location to begin your search.
