Margaret Thatcher did what was necessary at the time, as unpopular as it was, we were being held to ransom by the trade unions.
Coal mining was uneconomic for this country to continue with, and was a fuel of the past.
When Blair came to power, nothing changed for the first four years, he had adopted the policies that the thatcher government had set out.
We badly needed stability in our industries.
It has been the new labour government who have given our jobs away to other countries, eroded our self esteem, and has done the country great harm by joining with America, the illegal conflict in Iraq.
Thousands of innocent people killed for what? the cost to this country has been immense.
This labour government could not run a toffee shop.

Although Thatcher gave the impression she was vehemently against Europe, she none the less signed up the country to Europe to which all incoming prime ministers are subject to. Browns problem he`s a Prime Minister by default having never been elected by the electorate.
This bloke got little coverage on television but got massive hits on youtube.

Talk about hitting the nail on the head, this guy did just that. We are where we are for two reasons as said by Hann:
1. Brown thinks he can spend his way out of recession, he can't.
2. Brown thinks he can borrow his way out of debt. He can't.

We all know this but Brown can't or won't accept the facts.

When he has bankrupted the country will he be held accountable?

Brown's legacy after roughly a decade as chancellor and 2 years as pm:

over 2,000,000 unemployed, looking to be heading for 3,000,000.
Around 1,500,000 added civics in completely useless, artificially created jobs, that would be on the dole if they had to work in the private sector.

Real number of unemployed: 3,500,000, heading for 4,500,000

I don't think he will be soon forgotten; he has created, or at least allowed, the greatest disaster this country has seen in living memory.

The funny thing is: less than 2 years ago he was so proud of what "he had achieved in England", now we are in the brown stuff, it is a global problem.

And we are not even talking about the crime being so far off the scale that most people only report it if the insurance form demands it.
From where I live, I can walk to 3 murder scenes from the last 2 years.

no theyve only had 12 years to change things havent they. Of course thats not long enough to change things....oh hang theyve screwed it all up, yep they have had enough time then. At least maggie didnt sell off our gold reserves.
Dont matter if it was 100 years ago, the damage she did is ireversible, No party in government will ever be able to repair the damage done by the mare.

As you are an ex copper thermo you are bound to support her as she gave the police a massive rise during her stint as PM even though others were forced to tighten their belts and suffer the depression.
The police force became her personal henchmen to carry out her orders to subdue those fighting for their livelihoods, so dont tell me she wasnt to blame for todays mess.
