my heating is tripping the elec i have narrowed it down to a zone valve, disconnect the valve the elec dont trip,on the other hand i changed the valve but it still trips the elec i have now had a plumber replace the pump, programe box and zone valve CAN ANYBODY HELP PLEASE[/b]

Better to get a competent boiler engineer!!!

Whilst you and your muppet plumber may think the valve is at fault I have a different idea!

the valve acts as a relay and when open powers the boiler and pump ( or pump and boiler ).

I suspect its really something else with the fault, probably the pump!

cos they leak

especially the danfoss/sunvic ones. Or the old switchmaster.

The honeywell can to if some numpty nugget installer puts em in upside down

Tony, OP has said he has had a new pump.

How about the boiler fan if it has one.

Could also be a neutral to earth fault if it is the rccd that is tripping.

These are harder to find.

You do not say if it trips immediately or after a while.

Or whether it is a two or three port zone valve.

If it is a 2 port I suggest you disconnect the zone valve electrically, pin it open manually, then link the grey and orange wires, and fire it up. If you get an RCD trip it is not the zone valve.

Does it trip on CH and HW? There are so many unanswered questions does it trip an RCD (eg; current leak) or an MCB (eg: overload, short)?

You might call it acting, but it's hardly Helen Mirren territory.

The valve does not behave as a relay. It. Is. A. Switch.
