I think personality and likability has a lot to do with it most voters. Let's face it, most ordinary folk don't have the time to study politics completely and to know everything about it all.

Sadly, the public doesn't yet expect Politician to campaign on bare-faced lies.
Apparently false advertising during elections is (really) not subject to the usual LDH&T rules, and nobody has any control over it.
That's why they were able to keep repeating this

Additionally, the Outists had the benefit of years of anti-EU campaigning by the Conservative party and the foreign-owned popular newspapers, including powerful appeals to the anti-foreigner and racist vote

Boris's intention was never to win the referendum, it was to shut Farage up.... It was almost impossible for UKIP branches to get any Vote Leave literature or signs, so we had to be creative... Labour Leave really saved our bacon with some very good literature to present to the people.
I'd like to thank every one here who voted to leave, though we live in perilous times, we need to ensure that we do actually leave and on terms that suit the UK.... in time your children will thank you too.

The next PM has to announce the expansion at heathrow airport,Boris is against that expansion and as he had a lynch mob outside his house swearing,booing and needing a police escort to walk to his car,so Boris will be back when the brexit and airport stuff has stopped hitting the fan.
