Why is Trump so keen on Putin

I disagree but that is your opinion, I am not going to change it for you. Let us see how it pans out because it is not often that I am wrong, but I will be right again
The person that is never wrong hasnt been born yet.

The person that thinks they are nearly there is deluded

I think there is some confusion going on. Deliberate or not is the only real question.

Who, precisely who, is rallying for a war with, or against, Russia?

Are people trying to conflate defence with aggression?

Our defensive position has massively changed since the latest potus got into office. Should we just ignore our future? At what price?

I didn't know 'we' were under attack.

I suspect he looked at the same data available to everyone else and thought 'yep broke but full of hot air'. Which is exactly what I think.
It’s called credit, what every country needs in times of war or self defence

Fine but remember we cannot pay public sector pensions or state pensions to come. There is a massive blackhole for this already and I suspect this war will be used to argue for the fact the government cannot pay them. It isn't this administration's fault per se, it is successive failure of governments to address it but this is the reality of it.

We are looking at two massive global events which buggered up the finances. GFC and covid.

In fact, this is relatively small beer by comparison.

It will be meaningless to people when they have no money to pay for their retirement. Something many of you here are enjoying but the next generations to come will be likely going without.

Again, I believe it needs perspective. If GFC and covid between them cost us £1000bn, then spending say £10bn enforcing a ceasefire isn't really that important.

It depends upon how it all pans out. Russia are attacking at the moment so who knows where we are heading, it is a case of watch and see.

Watch and see with eyes open and building up defences which were pretty good until about 2 weeks ago, or just wait and hope nothing happens?

The toreys hollowed out the armed forces to fund the triple lock, you’ve got it the wrong way round.

For the current crop of retirees perhaps, not the future generations to come.

Ironic. President Musk's own AI program 'Grok', says that the Mango Mussollini is 75-85% likely to be a Russian asset. I think it took his brown nosing of Putin into account.
