Why is Trump so keen on Putin

It all comes down to your overall perspective. I believe if Europe gives in, Putin will not stop here. And the financial cost will be many, many times greater in future. It's a bit like the old saying "a stitch in time saves nine".
Then Putin will need to be deposed or disposed of because financially we are in a precarious place. Much more financial pressure put on Brits because of the failings of successive UK governments will more than likely bring about civil war quicker than I had envisaged.

Did anyone pick up on the fact that Bannon was saying we are effectively broke as a country and cannot afford to finish this war if we take it on? That we couldn't meet our pension and retirement plans for our own people if we do this. I'm surprised nobody seems concerned about this part of the conversation.
We’re no more broke than during furlough of austerity.

As well as Crimea and Chechyna, but nobody was worried then.

At the risk of being called a troll again! I am going to repeat my perfectly reasonable point that you have to draw a line somewhere. Otherwise that would be like saying we let Hitler take Czechoslovakia so there is no point going to war over Poland.

Since when has Stevie been an expert on our economy, his agenda is far too loaded to bd remotely objective. Politics for the hard of thinking
I suspect he looked at the same data available to everyone else and thought 'yep broke but full of hot air'. Which is exactly what I think.

I think we need a reality check on our country's finances before anyone rallies for or against war with Russia
You seem to think not defending Ukraine and allowing Putin to become stronger is the cheapest option.

Oh dear

What I tend to do when working out if I can afford something I want, is look at how much money I have to buy it with and the general state of my finances first. Perhaps you would prefer not to look at the household budget and throw caution to the wind, borrow from Peter to pay Paul perhaps.

I think there is some confusion going on. Deliberate or not is the only real question.

Who, precisely who, is rallying for a war with, or against, Russia?

Are people trying to conflate defence with aggression?

Our defensive position has massively changed since the latest potus got into office. Should we just ignore our future? At what price?
