Simple fact, the war has to end and a peace deal is better than fighting this war for years. Putin holds the land and a peace deal may look like Putin has won but it really is the only way.

Maybe. I thought I had read less than that. I'm not talking about for this conflict. I am looking at how we square up to Russia going forward. We have relied on the US for these weapons in the past, but they are clearly no longer a reliable partner.

What I read was that we currently make our own massive nukes for Trident and we have made our own small nukes in the past. So it is just a matter of dusting off the plans and making the exact same ones we made decades ago. I don't see it being a problem.

Maybe. I thought I had read less than that. I'm not talking about for this conflict. I am looking at how we square up to Russia going forward. We have relied on the US for these weapons in the past, but they are clearly no longer a reliable partner.

The U.S has certainly turned the tables more in Putins favour than ours. I doubt there is not a lot further to go with this war now but for Ukraine to accept a cease fire and do a deal.

Also, nobody knows whether we can fire Trident without US permission.

Nope I dont agree with it, however it will happen and Ukraine has limited options now the U.S has dropped us in it
