Why is Trump so keen on Putin

He doesnt want NATO pushing towards the `East any further therefore entirely different.
Countries choose to join NATO, they aren't pushing anywhere. You perhaps believe that countries shouldn't be allowed to choose their own destiny, I think they should.

So you think he will give back Crimea and the rest of his stolen land? You are deluded.
so mother russias borders have not changed then and he now has a buffer zone glad you turned the page in your CSE geography book

If that is your view then anything I say will not change that. I hold a different view and so that is all that there is to it. It is no big deal having different views, only when one side insults the other for holding their views is it an issue. I respect the fact you have not resorted into the trolling stance your buddies take.

So russia has chose its own destiny to invade

Yes. They are the invaders.
Russia accused Ukraine of a military build-up of its own and demanded "legal guarantees" that it would never join NATO. Now there is talk of Ukraine joining NATO putin is having none of it so he has taken his only action that he could to. prevent this.

They can do that now, Ukraine isn't required.
Now lets think what country is the closest to moscow the control centre and a few minutes extra in the event of a missile attack could make all the difference

Crimea is majority Russian and was ceded to Ukraine by the Russians for administrative purposes in the 1950s, which wasn't a problem as Ukraine and Russia were part of the same Union.
it was never intended to be part of an independent Ukraine.

They have no right to demand that. Ukraine should be free to do whatever they want.

Spot on, and during this transition I will add my post of this just for clarity.

Lets not forget if the US hadnt instigated the overthrow of a legitimate president then the situation would never had occurred

I disagree, but so what? Crimea was taken by force, by an invading neighbour.
