Have full control over which company carry out the Landlords gas inspections, this has to stop, these so called letting managements Con the landlord out of each inspection and taking a cut from the lowest guy who does the inspections and marks up the price to whatever they like,where are rough traders on this one.

They don`t have the right to say who does the work owner can get who they want . But usually leave it to estate agent because it is easier who then usually bump up what ever the true cost is and rip off the owner

seriously considered setting up my own estate agency, letting the wife run it and then she could send me all those lovely landlord's gas checks

A well know London estate agent charge the landlord over £120 for a gas cert of which we get about £50. (if they can be bothered to pay) £70 profit...not bad for a phone call.

Foxton's charge the landlord £137, and insist on a PAT test on top.
Reminds me, they still owe me for a LLC I did on Good Friday!
