Why??????

I really don't think Solo was being sarcastic I actually think he was making a good point about how peeople make excuses for what can ONLY be a vile in humane act.

Events such as this really do make me question our lack of death penalty (which of course is only applicable for regicide and mutiny on the high seas.)

Surely someone has to spend the rest of their lives in jail if they do this. We do not kill people here because it is inhumane and imoral and against our human right of life.
But surely someone who does this cannot be human, or moral and should surely not be extended the same rights.
 
No matter how horrific the crime our fundamental right to be innocent until PROVEN guilty must maintained ... It's what makes this country the place it is and separates us from savages.

That said, I'll be first in the queue to chop off his tackle with my junior hacksaw, disembowel him with my stanley knife, put the noose around his neck and pull the lever to the trapdoor IF the guy is proved to be guilty.

applies to any act of treason, including setting a fire in a Naval shipyard...

How fortunate that we have laws that distinguish us from savages. :roll:
