I'm a complete DIY novice and would be very grateful if somebody experienced could tell me how I should go about widening my existing open fireplace to install a small wood stove. I’ve taken some pictures and given dimensions. I understand that I’ll also need to move the hearth forward to comply with the building regs.
Is this a job a complete novice can tackle? If so where do I start? What tools do I need?
