I'm making good a couple of areas in the kitchen.

This has involved taking back the plaster on an external corner to the angle bead, not the entire length of the beading, two areas about 8" long.

Once the beading was exposed it looked rusty so I rubbed it down and treated it with some Rustins Rust Converter and then painted it with Zinsser Cover Stain.

I've bought a small tub of Gyproc Easi Fill to fill these two areas, they're about 5mm deep along their length.

Will the Easi Fill adhere to the now painted angle bead, a Google search seems to give differing advice?

Would I be better off using something from the Toupret range, maybe Flexi fill or their general purpose filler?

Many thanks for any advice.

Like plaster, the adhesion to angle bead is when it squishes through the holes in the bead. Plaster wouldn’t 'stick' to metal. As long as you have a gap that the filler can squish through, it will be fine.

Many thanks for your prompt reply Mottie.

Yes, the holes in the bead are visible, where I scrubbed at it with a small wire brush the plaster in the holes came away easily so there are recesses along the bead, its just that the surface of the plaster in the holes now has a light coating of Cover Stain and I was just wondering if that would affect how the Easi Fill gripped the surface.

Shouldn’t make any difference - nothing actually grips the surface.
