Will pipes be behind skirting or under floor?

Hi

I would like to fit a new rad into a garage conversion (currently has an elec heater). The nearest CH pipes are in the bedroom above, so I was thinking of bringing new pipes down from there through the ceiling. I don't want to be lifting up floorboards all over the place trying to find the pipes though, so I was wondering where they are likely to be in relation to the bedroom radiator?

Our house is approx 7 years old (RedRow). The radiator pipes in the bedroom go into the wall just above the top of the skirting - does this mean the pipes are installed in the wall or will they be under the floor somewhere - and if so, any idea what direction or how far away from the wall?

These might sound like stupid questions but I was wondering (and hoping) that pipework is fitted in a fairly standard way in newish houses.

Thanks in advance

Andy

If your pipes are microbore, it will be necessary to find the main flow and return pipes to take your feed from !!

It's not microbore (I don't think so anyway). The pipes coming out of the walls into the radiators are 10mm, but presumably I still need to find the main flow & return pipes? I guess this is what I meant in my original question.

10mm pipes r micro bore /15mm mini bore. are they copper or plastic. teeing off the 10mm is not a good idea as u wont get a sufficent flow for both rads . will need to tee into 15mm at the least. could be a long way back though. can u feel a warm section of floor when the heatings been on a while working back from the bedroom rad. probabley need to gat back onto landing if yer above the existing garage.
