Will pre-emptive patching extend flat asphalt roof life?

I have a 10 year old flat asphalt roof. So far there aren't any leaks but I imagine it's nearing end of its life. There are large swollen bumps in it, but no obvious cracks yet.

I'm wondering if I would prolong it's life by painting either the seams and bumps or the whole roof with something like

THOMPSONS 10 YEAR ROOF SEAL BLACK 4LTR​

And if so, could I roll tins of it out over large surface area with some kind of brush?

Just to add: In winter the roof holds a lot of water due to its deliberate (continental) design, and has one down pipe in middle of the roof.

one problem i can see
iff you coat the whole roof and it all looks similar, it may be more difficult to find actual leaks when they happen
quite an ironic thread as i have had a 4l tin for about 5 years and 10 days ago used it for the first time and it worked well but i laid it on thick and stood up well to heavy thundery showers a few days [week]later
you have to use two coats according to the tin
