Will these taps accept an indirect supply?

I need to fit a levered mixer tap to a bathroom basin. The tap comes with flexible connectors which are about 8mm wide. As the water supply is from a cistern is it likely that the water will drip rather than flow? On the base of the taps they have '8mn' embossed if this means anything.
