Hi All,

I have been gutting my bathroom and stripped some OLD wall tiles.
Needless to say, these pulled the plaster of the walls very nicely.......

Around the window reveal, the top and base coat of plaster (maybe even cement render??) came off, right down to the brickwork. Lo and Behold...the cavity between the brick walls.

It seems that this was covered by slate tiles and then plastered over during the original build of the house.

Should i cover the cavity with slate in the same way before geting a plasterer or is there a modern equivalent??

regards Matt

I had the same incident in my bathroom. Ended up laying a dpm then moisture resistant (aqua board) board covered by tiles.
Good time to see if you have any cavity insulation I had none so got the whole house filled for £265 on the warm front scheme makes a huge diff esp with the price of fuel these days.
