About 2 years ago I had new PVC windows installed. The fitters sealed the windows to the brickwork with a brown sealant (not sure make or type). On one window only, this had deteriorated and looks like it has been eaten away by something! Does anyone know what may have caused this as I want to prevent this happening again after I re-apply some new sealant.

Thanks

Maybe a wrong type of sealant or cheap quality. They are many good sealant out there and Unibond is one of them.

Look for a (brown) Neutral curing silicone :)

Looking at it futher there is alot of snail activity around the window (droppings) maybe these are to blame they eat most things, but I've not heard of it before!
