window sil hieght with toughned glass

went to measure up some misted up glass units fitted in wood frames, 15 years old, door has toughned glass fitted but for side windows have not got toughned glass
window sil height measures from floor 500mm
width of sil measures 450 mm from window frame to edge of sil
should toughned glass be fitted or not
next door neighbour has had the same glass change but not with toughned
can i just fit normal float glass sealed units or should it be toughned

You need to fit "safety glass" which is not necessarily toughened, but toughened is a safety glass
